Expert Presentation on “Climate Change and Wetlands” Held within the eTwinning “Aquasymphony” Project

As part of the Erasmus+ project “AQUASYMPHONY: Adaptation to Climate Change and Sustainable Water Use”, and within the framework of the eTwinning collaboration titled “Aquasymphony”, an insightful online seminar was held to deepen students’ and educators’ understanding of climate-related environmental issues.

Prof. Dr. Tahir Atıcı, from the Department of Biology Education at Gazi University, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the topic of “Climate Change and Wetlands”. The session provided valuable scientific insights into both natural and human-induced processes behind climate change, with a specific focus on the impacts on wetland ecosystems.

During the seminar, Prof. Dr. Atıcı shared a case study of Lake Mogan, highlighting how climate change is affecting wetlands in Turkey. The presentation also addressed individual-level precautions, adaptation strategies, and mitigation approaches that can help reduce the long-term consequences of climate change.

This event, organized as part of the eTwinning “Aquasymphony” project, contributed to raising awareness among students and partner schools from Italy, Turkey, Poland, and Romania, reinforcing the importance of international cooperation in environmental education and sustainability.
